# SubjectNest Year 9 — Australian-first opening pack

**Version:** v0.2 draft, 29 September 2026. **Status:** teacher, local-syllabus, accessibility, EAL/D, cultural and science review pending. This is a national Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 planning map plus **four authored weeks**. It is not a complete Year 9 course, an approved state syllabus, an achievement judgment or a replacement for school-selected literature and texts.

## First-day route

1. Check your authority's adopted Year 9 syllabus, school calendar, consent and privacy rules, reasonable adjustments, lab policy and text permissions. The [QCAA ACiQ v9 page](https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/p-10/aciq/version-9) is one Queensland entry point; use your own authority elsewhere. These national codes do not set assessment/reporting dates.
2. Read each subject [preparation](mathematics/term-1/weeks-01-02/README.md) and [access plan](english/term-1/weeks-01-02/README.md). Print text cards or the A4 SVG/PNG assets. Keep plain-text alternatives available; do not rely on colour, font size or a picture alone. Audit prerequisite understanding before Day 1 and adjust entry point without making adolescent examples childish.
3. On Days 1–10 use the opening guides; on Days 11–20 follow the [English](english/term-1/weeks-03-04/README.md), [mathematics](mathematics/term-1/weeks-03-04/README.md) and [integrated inquiry](integrated/term-1/weeks-03-04/README.md) guides. The 25 + 25 + 35 minutes are three bounded blocks within a wider school day. Add a locally suitable [five-area option](supplementary/term-1/weeks-03-04/README.md) if useful; other learning areas, reading, movement, routines and local obligations still need provision.
4. Use daily and transfer checks to choose next teaching. The checks and teacher keys in this public library can be viewed by anyone: they are formative prompts, not secure exams. Collect first responses before discussing answers and change a case locally if prior access matters. Record mathematical or language prompts separately from access support. Learners can reason via speech, sign, AAC, typing, tactile/large-print tools, pointing, visual design or directing an adult; assess the named construct, and check independent reading separately when a source was read aloud. Store student records under school policy, never in this public pack.

Access routes are individual options, not fixed “learning styles”. No translation has been invented or certified. A translation needs a named language variety, bilingual expert review and school approval. No First Nations knowledge, local Country/Place story, actual student identity, family finances or disability experience is invented or solicited. All community proposals, tariffs and performance numbers in the lessons are invented and labelled.

[AERO's explicit instruction guide](https://www.edresearch.edu.au/guides-resources/practice-guides/explicit-instruction-practice-guide-full-publication) informs modelling and response checks; AERO has not trialled these scripts. Four weeks of authored opportunities do not establish Year 9 achievement.
