Teacher reads complete models and source rules. Routes A/B/C change how a child accesses or expresses the same day's Science claim; they are flexible choices, not diagnoses or fixed learning styles. For any real attempt, keep exact source, local date, measured setup, before prediction, action, access and actual result. A paper/tactile model remains NOT TESTED. An adult's neutral description is ADULT REPORT, never relabelled the child's direct sense. Large fixed tactile labels and no-touch choice avoid small parts. The first independent response to Days 55/60 occurs with the teacher-held source before the practice card below is released.
Day 51 · What is a model?
- A · look/mark: Find the two lines and arrow in fictional P. Say or mark “the drawing shows …”; ask one real-test question.
- B · hear/say: Hear P's complete words. Dictate one drawing fact and one safe question; adult labels MODEL.
- C · touch/choose: Trace secured wide lines/outline or direct an adult; choose DRAWN ARROW and NOT TESTED, then express the same question by AAC/sign.
Day 52 · Predict before movement
- A · look/mark: Point to 6 cm across/9 cm gap in P; mark a prediction, source and reason before any approved actual try.
- B · hear/say: Hear dimensions and conditions; speak/dictate a before prediction, or say MODEL SUGGESTS when no real setup exists.
- C · touch/choose: Use fixed 6 CM, 9 CM and PREDICTION BEFORE cards; direct the adult to record exactly the same prediction/reason.
Day 53 · Record what happened or was not tested
- A · look/mark: With approved dated actual source, choose the exact result category; otherwise mark P as NOT TESTED and describe only marks.
- B · hear/say: Listen to neutral attributed adult report of actual try or P read aloud; dictate source, result type and one limit.
- C · touch/choose: Select a large fixed result label and date/source via AAC or adult-assisted pointing; no-touch still addresses the same evidence boundary.
Day 54 · Compare orientation
- A · look/mark: Place the two P views side by side; identify 6 cm versus 12 cm across and label them DRAWN MARKS.
- B · hear/say: Hear both views and any genuine dated actual records; name what changed and whether actual pair is comparable.
- C · touch/choose: Use fixed 6/12 orientation cards; direct an adult to compare the same object and passage, or say INCOMPARABLE.
Day 55 · Practice after first check
- A · look/mark: On a new blank passage mat, draw an object outline in two orientations and label both NOT TESTED.
- B · hear/say: Describe two imagined orientations, pose a safe question and say what actual source would be needed.
- C · touch/choose: Turn one secured broad outline or instruct an adult to do so; distinguish model marks from a real try.
Day 56 · Compare widths
- A · look/mark: Read fictional Q's R/S widths against one gap; name what the drawing represents and NOT TESTED.
- B · hear/say: Hear Q; dictate why a same-gap actual comparison needs verified objects and recorded conditions.
- C · touch/choose: Use fixed R 8, S 12, GAP 9 and MODEL labels; explain a width comparison via AAC/adult scribe.
Day 57 · Is shape alone supported?
- A · look/mark: Compare 8 cm square and 10 cm circle plans; mark both SHAPE and WIDTH changed.
- B · hear/say: Hear both descriptions; state why “round always stops” is unsupported and propose a fairer comparison.
- C · touch/choose: Explore broad secured outline cards with spoken dimensions; select TWO THINGS CHANGED and say what to match.
Day 58 · Change the gap
- A · look/mark: Compare T's 9 cm/14 cm drawn passages with the same 12 cm outline; label gap changed, actual result absent.
- B · hear/say: Hear T; predict what an approved actual two-gap check might ask and keep source/date blank until real.
- C · touch/choose: Use fixed 9/14 gap strips and 12 outline as a MODEL; report same object, different gap, NOT TESTED.
Day 59 · Explain with source and unknown
- A · look/mark: Point to actual dated record or model T; write/draw a bounded claim and one unknown for a chosen listener.
- B · hear/say: Hear the source; tell teacher “this source shows/says … ; it does not show …”.
- C · touch/choose: Choose fixed SOURCE, RESULT/MARKS and UNKNOWN labels; sign/AAC or direct adult to share identical claim.
Day 60 · Practice after first check
- A · look/mark: Make a fresh fictional two-gap diagram and clearly mark what changed and NOT TESTED.
- B · hear/say: Describe a possible safe approved comparison and say which actual detail would need recording.
- C · touch/choose: Arrange two fixed broad gap strips as a model; communicate changed gap, fixed object and unknown result.
