Everything about Folio Room is fictional. You may point, speak, sign, use AAC, draw or direct an adult to record your exact answer. No family, real celebration, home, special place or Country/Place story is required. A/B/C reach the same target and can be changed mid-task; they are not fixed learning styles. The full linear words can be read aloud. Home ideas are free and optional. For check days, use neutral route support with the fresh source first; discuss this card only after first responses.
Day 51 · First map question
Shared target: Locate the board on A and ask what paper cannot tell about a real place.
- A · Mark: Trace board/desk shapes left and draw one answerable bubble and one REAL SOURCE? bubble.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell where Neri drew the board, then ask whether a class actually saw this room.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to place broad DESK / TRAY / EASEL headings and leave a REAL ROOM field blank.
Home: Draw a pretend toy room and say what its picture does not prove.
Day 52 · Compare two maps
Shared target: Name one feature A/B share and one board position that differs.
- A · Mark: Trace the tray in both maps, then draw an arrow from A's board position to B's.
- B · Say/AAC: Finish “Both maps draw ; A puts board ; B puts board ___.”
- C · Direct: Ask an adult to hold whole pages side by side; point to one same shape and one different one.
Home: Draw two toy maps with one paper feature moved between the drawings; do not claim a real move.
Day 53 · Before/later story
Shared target: Place A and B on Story Days 1 and 2 and tell one source-labelled before/later sentence.
- A · Mark: Fill two large map fields on the mat; mark the unknown real action.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell “Neri's first sketch draws ; later sketch draws .”
- C · Direct: Tell an adult which whole page goes in DAY 1 and DAY 2 and dictate one location difference.
Home: Tell a puppet what changed between two invented picture maps.
Day 54 · Plan or log?
Shared target: State C's intended first/next order and one thing it cannot report.
- A · Mark: Draw two broad boxes for planned first/next; keep the ACTUAL TURNS field empty.
- B · Say/AAC: Finish “Neri planned ___ first and ___ next; this does not tell me ___.”
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to touch the arrow between planned name boxes, then leave TURN LENGTH blank.
Home: Make a pretend toy-turn plan and say whether planning proves it happened.
Day 55 · Fresh Check A
Shared target: Use the new Reed Room sources to compare two dated maps and ask an open question.
- A · Mark: On broad blank fields, mark one feature in each source and one question not answered.
- B · Say/AAC: Explain one similarity or change and name the source for it.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to lay two whole pages in time order and point to evidence for your answer.
Home: After your first check response, invent a separate source that could answer one open question.
Day 56 · Plan and later note
Shared target: Put C before D, attribute Ion's report and leave turn length unknown.
- A · Mark: Put C in Day 1 and D in Day 2 on the mat; add a duration question.
- B · Say/AAC: Narrate “Neri planned ; Ion later wrote ; neither gives ___.”
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to place PLAN and ION NOTE strips; correct any claim that the class saw it.
Home: Invent a paper plan and a toy's later report; do not make them a real event.
Day 57 · Two views
Shared target: Attribute Eva and Ion's views and leave other people's views unknown.
- A · Mark: Link Eva to left desk and Ion to right easel; add OTHERS? outside their two boxes.
- B · Say/AAC: Say what each likes, using each name; do not speak for everyone.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to place broad EVA/ION headings beside the exact quote each said.
Home: Give two toys different invented views about a paper display.
Day 58 · Missing sharing evidence
Shared target: Cite one C/D claim and ask what another source would need to show about turns or views.
- A · Mark: Circle the planned order and Ion's reported order; write a question in TURN LENGTH UNKNOWN.
- B · Say/AAC: Ask how long each turn was, or whose voice is missing; explain why C/D cannot answer.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to mark SUPPORTED and NEEDS A REAL CHECK on two large regions.
Home: Ask a toy what a pretend turn plan leaves out; no real child story needed.
Day 59 · Careful multi-source account
Shared target: Tell a source-labelled map/plan/report/view story with one unknown and a real-source question.
- A · Mark: Fill A/B/C/D fields on the mat and add a view bubble.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell a short “Neri drew/planned; Ion reported; Eva/Ion says” account with source names.
- C · Direct: Tell an adult which whole pages to lay in before/later order, then dictate one missing fact.
Home: Optional wholly fictional toy-room story; no family or place interview.
Day 60 · Fresh Check B
Shared target: Use Birch Room sources to map, sort, attribute and limit a conclusion.
- A · Mark: Use large blank regions to record pictured positions, source types, views and one open question.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell a source-labelled before/later account and distinguish two speakers' views.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to sort whole source sections and point to exact evidence for your answer.
Home: After first check responses, invent one different fictional view of a shared tray.
