Optional real-material inquiry: safety and exact evidence

Default is quiet paper work. A real action is optional and only after school approval, adult preflight and each child’s comfort check. Use one large, clean, dry, smooth-edged verified school-approved broad card-like object; optional one broad clean non-latex fabric or pad layer whose material is verified or recorded UNKNOWN. Adult checks no allergy/unknown fibre, loose small part, dust, sharp edge, unstable support, spill, resonant metal/glass, electronics, amplifier or sensory distress. Place the broad object on a stable flat support away from faces. The adult may make one very gentle fingertip tap per approved condition, after warning and consent; the optional A/B pair permits at most one A and one B action after a separate comfort check. No rapid/unbounded repetition, loud/surprise tapping, striking tool, shared instrument or music performance. Stop immediately on discomfort. Never require hearing or touch. If a child chooses a silent room, do not make a sound there; model-only is a complete reasoning route. A consenting child may optionally feel a safe broad surface while the adult acts, but a felt response is not guaranteed; do not prescribe where a hand goes or force contact. Neutral adult description is available, labelled ADULT REPORT, not the child's direct sensation.

For any actual result, record local date, exact object ID/verified material(s) or UNKNOWN, support, layer placement, fingertip action, prior prediction if truly recorded before, direct auditory/tactile/other observation or attributed ADULT REPORT, and exact response: e.g. “heard a faint short sound,” “felt a brief response,” “not discernible to this observer,” or “action not done.” These are example recording forms, not supplied outcomes. Use the same adult, support, tap point and approximate gentle action for a comparison if possible; note differences. A very gentle action may produce no discernible response, which is valid. Never rank children's hearing or sensitivity. Neither the physical reason nor the material alone is isolated by one comparison: thickness, shape, support, force and added mass may matter. A layered object is composite only if its actual parts are verified; a printed label/card colour does not verify composition. If safe genuine action is unavailable, mark REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE and use models for source/question language only; no actual AC9SFI02 or material-response evidence. A fresh try is NEW EVIDENCE, not a reconstructed past result. Never invent feedback, growth, pilot results or a child sensory report.

A useful next question is: which exact object and conditions would we safely observe?” This teaches source limits; it is not a past classroom trial. Exact nonvisual/tactile: adult reads the whole note; place broad fixed STORY CLAIM, MISSING CONDITIONS and NEXT QUESTION cards.
