Learner choices

Goal: interpret a supplied comparison and separate recorded result from a wider guess. Proposed opportunities: AC9SFU03, AC9SFI03, AC9SFI04, AC9SFI05, limited to reasoning about the record.

Prepare: keep teacher-held Case AH and educator key unseen until first independent response. Offer an uncoached access mode.

  1. Settle · 3 min. “You can point, tell, sign, use AAC or direct a scribe. This is an invented notebook.” Explain that it is a fresh case.
  2. Meet the source · 4 min. Read the case exactly, without selecting answers or adding a prediction. Give the source ID and both rows.
  3. First independent response · 7 min. Ask the three case prompts. Record words/choices and assistance. Allow more time or another short sitting; the clock is not a Science criterion.
  4. Read it back · 5 min. Read the response back for the child to confirm; keep first response and later change distinct. Use the key only after it has been recorded.
  5. Teaching afterwards · 4 min. Return to an already practised P/C/T model to teach the specific next step. Do not rehearse tomorrow's or Day 160's held case.
  6. Keep and next · 2 min. Save interpretation evidence; mark REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE for direct investigation claims based only on this case.
