These are invented drawings and models. A “tray of ten” or “row of ten” has exactly ten marks; check one row before trusting it. Choose one card for today's lesson. Your teacher may keep the others for later practice. You can use ten-strips and counters, draw groups, choose large digit cards, use a tactile mat, or direct someone else to move objects for you. Show or tell how many full tens and loose ones you used. No real stock, tickets, living things or purchases need to be counted.

One more way
After finishing one card, choose a new card in that row. Make a wrong model on purpose by moving a tens strip to the ones column or swapping numeral digits. Ask a partner or adult to find and fix the exact mistake. Keep the first attempt and correction visible. You can also invent a context about an interest of your own, provided each group is verified as ten and the claim is only about the drawn/modelled items.
