All names, dates, people, quotes and places below are invented classroom sources. They help us practise asking questions; they do not prove how every family or town lived. You never have to describe your own family, home, shopping, school route or history. Print one card at a time. Use the A4 then/now aid or selectable text. You can point, speak, sign, use AAC, draw or direct an adult to write your words.
Day 1 · Two dates
Source A, fictional 1989: Nia lived with her grandmother and father. Both adults shared cooking and care. Nia carried a cloth bag to a neighbourhood shop.
Source B, fictional 2026: Kai lives with two mothers and an older cousin. Adults share cooking and school pickup. Kai takes a reusable bag to a shop.
