This is a simulated desk review of the authored pack, not a classroom pilot, student study, accessibility certification or funder endorsement. The reviewer used the files as a teacher, a fictional Year 8 learner, an access support planner and a prospective funder would. The reproducible internal checks are in verify_pack.py; the rights ledger separates original and ACARA material.
| Desk lens | Concrete route tried | Finding and correction |
|---|---|---|
| Teacher, Day 13 | Opened Texts A/B, the lesson, route B and daily key. Built the clause-strip sentence and checked the total against the source. | The paper result is 24 + 18 × 4 = 96 cm, with two 12 cm margins. The script explicitly asks for a separate physical limit and records the first paragraph plus edit. A calculation error is checked separately from the English source claim. A teacher still needs to arrange the local paper strips and record exact learner support. |
| Learner, Day 18 | Followed route A/B/C against the complete poem, then used the line/meaning sheet. Tried two defensible readings of “choice unmade” tied to words in the poem. | Each route ends in a supported opinion and two original lines with a visible revision. The teacher prompt accepts different readings and avoids a personal-disclosure demand. The Year 8 AC9E8LA02 link was sharpened by naming the vignette's like a frame simile and the poem's gate/sky metaphor in actual model steps; it remains partial coverage. |
| Access planner | Read all three A4 PDFs, checked extracted PDF text and compared the printed prompts with the full text/tactile alternatives. Switched the Day 19 route between speech, AAC and quiet written reply. | The original A4 sheets use large dark text, numbered/labelled boxes and no colour-only instruction. Every printed prompt, value and spatial relation has a text/tactile counterpart. An adult reading aloud changes the evidence label to listening-supported comprehension. Day 19 does not credit written text or synthetic voice as evidence of vocal control. Actual assistive-technology/user validation remains to be done locally. |
| Teacher, Days 15/20 | Compared new check sources with practice texts and optional extras, then scored the sample response against the private criterion key. | Both checks use fresh values and phrases; each has four 0/1/2 criteria and an immediate next teaching move. Source/claim errors do not become a mathematics diagnosis or whole-year English score. A shared website must gate staff files operationally; file naming and a README warning do not protect them. |
| Prospective funder | Followed crosswalk to dated official rows, inspected rights/attribution and traced each PDF to generator, font rights and hash manifest. | The package is original except selected attributed ACARA wording and the separately licensed embedded font. The audit describes 10 lessons, 30 choices, 20 extras, 10 home routes and 2 checks, not proven learner gains or complete Year 8 coverage. Wider authored literature, local jurisdiction review and cultural authority are explicit release boundaries. |
Print and practical observations
The three one-page A4 PDFs were rendered to images and visually inspected at 1200-pixel long side: no overlapping prompts, cut-off response line or colour-dependent meaning was seen. PDF text extraction preserves titles, prompts, numerical values and licence footer. The sheets use blank writing lines; for a learner who needs more space, enlarge or continue on paper rather than shrinking text. Their text alternatives can be selected instead of a visual sheet. No human classroom or assistive-device trial has been performed.
Release interpretation
The local verifier checks exact official code/row/description import, timed lessons, 30 routes, 20 optional choices and 10 home rows, held-out phrase separation, source arithmetic, rubric presence, A4 SVG/PDF structure, deterministic regeneration, internal links and the file hash receipt. A passing result establishes the pack's internal integrity at this dated source snapshot. Teacher selection of additional literature, language support, moderation, state/territory implementation and student feedback remain necessary before any claim that a year or course is comprehensive.
