The optional 3.2-second original WAV has eight equal 0.4-second counts at 16 kHz mono. A quiet synthetic tap begins at counts 1, 3, 4, 6 and 8; counts 2, 5 and 7 are full rests. There is no speech, environmental recording, copyrighted music or claimed cultural style. The pulse is generated by our local script, not an AWS or third-party voice. Start at a comfortable low volume, allow silence by default and do not require headphones or playback.

To make a tactile version, place eight numbered cards in a row; a raised dot on 1/3/4/6/8 means tap and a large REST word card on 2/5/7 means intentional silence. A learner may read, arrange, sign, AAC, conduct or write the score without hearing or producing audio. Score notation is evidence of a composition choice; a performed sound is only recorded if it happened.
