The Foundation Dance crosswalk includes exploring how and why the arts matter to people and communities. The original Paper Room stories are inventions; they cannot establish any real community's reasons. The original SubjectNest teacher-demo score has a known maker and intention, and becomes an actual class work encounter only if an educator really performs/adapts it and records what happened. Broader Dance learning needs authorised works made by identifiable real makers in their own contexts.
Before showing or discussing an external work, the school records maker/appropriate cultural authority; title and date; first-party source; permitted classroom access and reuse; age/access suitability; what context the maker supplies; exactly what children may observe; an alternative to video/audio; and questions that do not ask children to copy restricted choreography. If a First Nations work is considered, follow Creative Australia's current cultural and intellectual property protocols and the relevant maker/community authority. A public page is not automatic permission to reproduce choreography, music, imagery or story. Do not use one maker as a stand-in for a whole people.
