Your teacher can read every card aloud. You can point, speak, draw, use AAC, move approved broad paper or direct an adult. The routes are not fixed learning styles; all three aim at the same daily target. A drawing or adult demonstration is useful design thinking, but it does not show that the child handled material. If an adult places a viewer on a child's direction, record both roles; an actual observed view may still be recorded. Mark the view trial NOT TRIED only when no approved placement occurred. The A4 full-text alternatives support nonvisual and no-print use. The public checks appear separately in student copy; collect first responses before feedback.
Day 21 · A person designs a focus helper
Shared target: Tell who a person-designed feature would help and why.
- A · Draw: Pick one invented mark on source A; draw a large border and finish “The border helps a pretend ___ see ___.”
- B · Talk/AAC: Ask an adult to read the three marks. Say or select target, user and one feature a person could add.
- C · Direct/model: Point to a target and direct an adult where a broad paper edge might go. Call it an idea, not a tested result.
Home: Ask a puppet which mark it would like to focus on. A spoken answer is enough.
Day 22 · Two window ideas
Shared target: Compare two untested opening ideas for one purpose.
- A · Draw: Outline the wide and narrow proposals from source B; circle which you would try first and give one possible difficulty.
- B · Talk/AAC: Hear each idea described, then tell a pretend reader how each might help or get in the way.
- C · Direct/model: Direct an adult to hold up two large uncut paper outlines; indicate the first to prepare later. No view result has been established.
Home: Look for a broad frame on a book or box and describe its possible purpose; do not cut anything.
Day 23 · Two positions
Shared target: Communicate two different places for one proposed viewer.
- A · Draw: On source A, sketch two broad outlines around a chosen target; name first choice.
- B · Talk/AAC: Give two position instructions using left, middle or right of the page. An adult repeats them for checking.
- C · Direct/model: Move a large uncut blank paper shape or direct an adult to two distinct places above the source; record these as proposals.
Home: Use a finger above a magazine picture to show two possible frames, without collecting personal photos.
Day 24 · Safe order
Shared target: Order a safe plan and distinguish adult preparation from a child's possible action.
- A · Draw: Number the four step cards and draw an adult beside preparation.
- B · Talk/AAC: Tell an adult “choose, fold border, place, look/report” in order and say where to stop if the paper is unsuitable.
- C · Direct/model: Ask an adult to lay broad cards in order, then point to who would prepare an opening. Nothing must be physically tried today.
Home: Explain the paper-only plan to a puppet. Do not cut or test at home.
Day 25 · Fresh check A
Shared target: Give two ideas and a reason for the new pretend display purpose in Check A.
- A · Draw: Use the check page to show two broad-paper layouts and circle your choice.
- B · Talk/AAC: Tell or select two different layouts; an adult writes your words exactly.
- C · Direct/model: Direct an adult to point to two placements on the check page, then say which you choose. This is not a material trial.
Home: After first responses have been collected, invent a new two-mark display for a toy visitor; no purchase or photo needed.
Day 26 · Choose what to inspect
Shared target: Select a safe broad sheet and name what must be checked before claiming it covers a mark.
- A · Draw: Complete material-feature mat: two sheet options, first choice and unknown.
- B · Talk/AAC: Ask the adult to describe two approved large samples; distinguish “I saw” from “I was told.”
- C · Direct/model: If approved, inspect a large sheet for edge, size and light passage, or direct an adult's inspection. Do not infer every sheet is the same.
Home: Sketch one large sheet idea and a question you would ask before using it.
Day 27 · Trial or plan
Shared target: Follow or describe safe steps, then report only an actual view.
- A · Draw: Use view card to draw BEFORE and WITH WINDOW from a real approved trial, or write NOT TRIED.
- B · Talk/AAC: Tell the adult the target and what was actually visible; if someone else describes it, say “I was told.”
- C · Direct/model: With school approval, position an adult-prepared broad opening or direct an adult. Record who handled it and TARGET ONLY / EXTRA MARKS / NOT TRIED only from reality.
Home: A spoken plan is enough. No home cutting or test required.
Day 28 · A useful change
Shared target: Choose a revision that addresses observed evidence or a named unknown.
- A · Draw: On view card, draw a new opening position and connect it to your Day 27 record.
- B · Talk/AAC: Complete “I observed , so next I would ,” or “I have not tried it, so I need to check ___.”
- C · Direct/model: If safe and approved, direct one revised position and record a second actual result separately; otherwise demonstrate the change as an untried plan.
Home: Tell a puppet how you could improve a pretend picture viewer.
Day 29 · Explain to someone else
Shared target: Communicate user, purpose, feature, choice and honest evidence limit.
- A · Draw: Make three panels: “for whom,” “my chosen edge/opening,” “what I know or need to test.”
- B · Talk/AAC: Explain your idea for a pretend library helper or art visitor; say whether you tried it.
- C · Direct/model: Direct an adult to demonstrate your plan with large blank cards. If a real school source is approved, tell what you actually noticed, not a guessed history.
Home: Choose an everyday paper window you notice and ask who might have designed it. Sharing is optional.
Day 30 · Fresh check B
Shared target: Design a new broad pointer for Check B, then distinguish a plan from an observed trial.
- A · Draw: Give two broad pointer ideas, choose one and show where it would indicate the target without covering its label.
- B · Talk/AAC: Tell an adult two ideas, your choice and safe ordered steps; adult writes your words exactly.
- C · Direct/model: Direct or, if approved, place an adult-prepared broad paper pointer. Record who physically acted and only the actual result or NOT TRIED.
Home: After first responses, tell a puppet how to point clearly on an invented sign. Do not cut or photograph a real sign.
