The people, places and views on these cards are fictional. You do not have to tell anyone about your own family, home, birthplace, celebration, special place or Country/Place. Your teacher can read the full source text. Choose or switch among A/B/C; these are not fixed learning styles and all aim at the same question. You can speak, point, use AAC, draw or direct an adult. An adult writes your words exactly and notes help given. Your actual family/local information is handled only through the school's private optional process, never through this public page.
Day 11 · Ask from a source
Shared target: Ask one question the fictional people card can answer and one it cannot.
- A · Draw: Mark a line under one people-card fact, then draw a question bubble and an UNKNOWN bubble.
- B · Say/AAC: Hear the source and ask “How are two people connected?” followed by one missing-detail question.
- C · Direct: Tell an adult which large word card to place under SOURCE SAYS and which under DOES NOT SAY.
Home: Ask a puppet a make-believe question; no real family detail needed.
Day 12 · Sort fact, role and unknown
Shared target: Sort three printed details and one unknown without guessing.
- A · Draw: Fill relationship/unknown mat with broad marks or words from the source.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell what the card says about family relation, volunteer role and a missing birthplace.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to place large source cards in FAMILY RELATIONSHIP, ROOM ROLE and SOURCE DOES NOT SAY.
Home: Sort two invented puppet roles such as maker/helper; label anything not stated unknown.
Day 13 · Attribute a view
Shared target: Tell which fictional person said which preference and ask a follow-up question.
- A · Draw: Connect each quoted view card to its printed speaker.
- B · Say/AAC: Finish “Fio said ; Vale said ; I could ask ___.”
- C · Direct: Ask an adult to lay two broad attributed cards side by side, then point to the speaker of each.
Home: Make up two puppet opinions about a drawing; you need not share your own preference.
Day 14 · Fictional born/raised timeline
Shared target: Retell two source place facts in order and mark an unknown reason.
- A · Draw: Put BORN and RAISED in the correct two-frame timeline; add UNKNOWN for why the places differ.
- B · Say/AAC: Hear the two printed places, then tell them in the exact order without inventing a reason.
- C · Direct: Tell an adult to place two broad town cards from left to right and leave a separate reason card blank.
Home: Tell a puppet an invented first/then place story; no personal history.
Day 15 · Fresh check A
Shared target: Use the new fictional Check A to ask, sort, narrate and conclude from stated facts.
- A · Draw: Mark the stated relationship, order two place frames and draw an unknown box.
- B · Say/AAC: Give the source relation, born/raised order, a missing-detail question and a careful conclusion.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to move large printed source cards; adult records your own reason, not theirs.
Home: After first responses, invent one new paper character with an unknown detail. No family interview.
Day 16 · Questions about a drawn place
Shared target: Ask what a fictional map shows and what would need a real observation.
- A · Draw: Circle one changed feature on Paper Lane maps and draw a question mark by an unknown effect.
- B · Say/AAC: Ask one “where/what changed?” question and one “how could we really check?” question.
- C · Direct: Tell an adult to place large ENTRY, PAPER TRACK and CATCH BOX cards on the earlier/later map areas.
Home: Ask a puppet what a made-up map can tell us; no home map or address.
Day 17 · Earlier/later map story
Shared target: Record one moved feature, one stayed feature and tell a two-frame story.
- A · Draw: Mark PAPER TRACK in both Paper Lane maps and circle what stayed.
- B · Say/AAC: Complete “Earlier ; later ; ___ stayed.” Use the printed source words.
- C · Direct: Move large paper feature cards on a teacher-drawn map, then direct an adult to trace the order.
Home: Tell a puppet an invented before/after room story; no real room photo or location.
Day 18 · Two place views
Shared target: Attribute two fictional preferences and give one careful source-supported conclusion.
- A · Draw: Connect the two Lane comments to the speaker and mapped feature; mark one unknown.
- B · Say/AAC: Say which arrangement each speaker prefers and whether the map proves a real benefit.
- C · Direct: Ask an adult to place large speaker cards by the earlier/later map, then point to evidence for your conclusion.
Home: Make up two puppet views about a drawing; nobody has to state a personal special place.
Day 19 · Care idea and evidence limit
Shared target: Propose one gentle care action for the fictional place and name what would need checking.
- A · Draw: Use Lane evidence mat to show a paper-only care idea and a question mark for outcome.
- B · Say/AAC: Finish “We could ; to know whether it helped, we would need .”
- C · Direct: Tell an adult where a broad paper card might go on the drawing, then say the real school procedure is separate.
Home: Tell a puppet an invented way to look after a paper place; no real action is required.
Day 20 · Fresh check B
Shared target: Use the new fictional Check B to map change, attribute views and limit a conclusion.
- A · Draw: Mark the earlier/later positions, label who liked which, and add an UNKNOWN effect box.
- B · Say/AAC: Tell an earlier/later story, both speakers' views and one claim the source cannot prove.
- C · Direct: Direct an adult to place broad feature/speaker cards on the new map; adult records your source reason.
Home: After first responses, make up a different two-frame paper place. No real-place visit, map or recording needed.
