Learner choices

Target/codes: Share a short multi-source fictional narrative, individual place perspective and an unanswered question; AC9HSFK03, AC9HSFS01, AC9HSFS03, AC9HSFS04 and AC9HSFS05 partial.

  1. Settle/purpose · 3 min. The story is invented; public discussion never requires a child's own family or special place.
  2. Read source · 4 min. Lay out whole A–E pages, the person mat and place mat.
  3. Model inquiry · 5 min. “A says Jules and Emi are cousins; B says Jules likes Page Nook; C draws a rug centre; D says why Jules finds the nook special. Emi's own reason for belonging is not supplied.”
  4. Child response · 7 min. Child tells a source-labelled three-part person/place story with one attributed view and one unknown, then asks a respectful new source question. Use broad drawing, speech/sign/AAC or scribe.
  5. Check/respond · 4 min. Record which source supports each idea. If a child infers a real family, a real place or a plant change, return to the fiction and Science boundary.
  6. Exit · 2 min. Say “To teach about a real familiar place or family, we would need ___ with permission.”
