Page Nook Album archive
Every person, relationship and place in A–E is invented. The places Darwin, Adelaide and Cairns are real Australian city names used in a fictional statement; no real child's birthplace or migration reason is supplied. Read the exact words. Do not generalise this one story into how every family is arranged.
- A · made-up family album page: Jules and Emi are cousins. Pat is their aunt. Pat was born in Darwin and grew up in Adelaide. Jules was born in Cairns and is growing up in an unnamed town. Emi's birthplace and growing-up place are not stated. The A4 page gives three anonymous person icons and separate statements. It does not name any real family or explain why anyone moved.
- B · Jules's own fictional note: “I like our made-up Page Nook. Pat showed us how to fold a paper book. Emi chose the cover. I was born in Cairns. We tell stories together there.” It adds Jules's individual view and details, not Emi's feelings, nor the unnamed town's identity. A4 note.
- C · Page Nook drawing: an actual shaped BOOK SHELF at LEFT, OVAL RUG at CENTRE, and LOW TABLE at RIGHT. The A4 place sketch is a paper model, not an observation of a real place.
- D · Jules's place view: “This nook is special to me because I hear stories on the oval rug.” Jules speaks only for Jules.
- E · Emi's place view: “I would rather look at a large picture book at the low table.” A wish is not a completed change or proof of a particular access need. A4 views.
Use the person/source mat to separate relationship, born in, grew up/growing up in and not stated. Use the place/care mat to separate a drawn feature, speaker's exact view, a conditional care question and an unshown real result. The independent Harbor Album and Pillar Nook checks use new people and sources. Full linear text/tactile directions cover all eight pages.
Prepare and keep evidence private
Print or display whole A4 sheets, or draw broad outlined icons/regions and read exact words. Do not use a real family album, photograph, exact address, child image or personal data for this public lesson. The child can point, speak/sign/AAC, draw or direct an adult. Keep private teacher notes with day, cited source, exact response/point, access route, help and next move under school rules. Do not publish completed learner records.
If a school offers a real-family K01 opportunity, it is optional, school-approved, privately held and consent-aware, and the child may leave any field unknown or not shared. Only actual suitable evidence about the child's own people, relationships and birth/raising places can inform K01; fiction cannot. The same fictional source-reasoning task remains available to all learners. Real familiar-place or Country/Place teaching follows the local gate. For Days 65 and 70, collect first responses to fresh public check cases before using the publicly accessible key; record extra time/support honestly.
