Each route retains that day’s decision target. “Direct” can be voice, sign, gesture, AAC, switch or agreed confirmed eye gaze. Adults may scribe, place broad pieces or make an optional gentle sound; they must record child choices versus adult actions. Pass or later is allowed, but not counted as a demonstrated target. Silent participation never implies the child heard or made sound.

Paper/tactile routes support cue planning and access. Only an observed optional live event supports actual sound-making claims; only an observed willing person supports actual audience claims. No route implies digital production or hearing ability.
