- Model · 4 min. A sounds at local 1,4 both rounds. B first at 2,3, second at 2,4. Read both parts in each beat before moving right. Name B's local 3 sound→wait and 4 wait→sound; A stays.
- Try together · 5 min. Use the template's given B first round and invite a different second B choice. Ask where it differs and whether A still repeats; an empty B round is a legitimate compositional possibility in open making.
- Child choice · 7 min. Child adds B first-round choices to an own A backing, then chooses a second B with at least one difference. Read/trial one round first, then second, through chosen quiet live or no-sound route. Adults follow the child.
- Notice · 4 min. Save first plan and exact A correspondence/B difference. If both lines change unintentionally, cover B and recover A before restoring combined score; do not call a paper recovery actual performance.
- Close · 2 min. Child picks a favourite B moment. Different source or pitch is not the task; the part's timing/waits change.
