Learner choices

Goal: independently ask, predict, distinguish actual movement from a new invented path, and state a source limit. Proposed codes: AC9SFU02, AC9SFI01, AC9SFI02, AC9SFI03. Prepare: unseen teacher-held Day 15 check, blank log, Card 15 after the check.

  1. Welcome · 3 min. Explain the response chooses next teaching. Offer direct access, attributed adult report, paper-only or pass.
  2. Retrieve · 4 min. Revisit only known Model M's arrow limits; do not show the fresh held path or object.
  3. Fresh source · 5 min. Introduce the new preflighted broad soft object and flat lane, or the check's labelled invented two-arrow board. Record source/date/mode; no answer cue.
  4. First independent response · 7 min. Child asks one motion question, predicts before any actual release, reports or reads what happened from the source, and names which claim remains unknown. Save first words/point/sign/AAC and support before teaching.
  5. Provenance · 4 min. Child labels DIRECT, ADULT REPORT, or MODEL and compares prediction with actual only if a real result was obtained; otherwise NOT TESTED.
  6. Close · 2 min. Use teacher key for next step. Release practice Card 15 only after scoring the first response.
