What this fortnight can and cannot evidence
- Movement, AC9SFU02: An approved, actually performed, dated adult-controlled pad movement can let a child describe observed slide, turn, pause or stop in that event. The paper F/G/H/J cases practise how a representation limits claims. The pack does not isolate an object's size, shape or material influence; the adult chooses the path. It is a partial movement opportunity, not the full description. ACARA's Foundation movement work sample also treats observed movement, factors and provided representations as distinct evidence.
- Question and prediction, AC9SFH01/AC9SFI01: Ask whether a full path can be known from snapshots and, before an approved actual event, predict one observable movement feature. A pretend prior prediction inside H remains model content; a child's after-result answer is not a prior prediction.
- Safe investigation and representation, AC9SFI02/03: Actual investigation credit requires approval, local date, exact equipment, adult action, safe access, genuine raw movement and any hidden/interrupted segment. If the real event is not run, record REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE. An ADULT REPORT is attributed, not the child's own direct sensory observation. A three-frame picture can be ordered or mapped but cannot establish a real path or pattern; several comparable real observations would be needed before even a local pattern claim.
- Compare and share, AC9SFI04/05: Compare a child's genuinely earlier prediction with genuinely observed movement only if both were recorded; otherwise mark NO PRIOR PREDICTION or PATH NOT SEEN. Share a bounded explanation privately by speech, sign, AAC, pointing, drawing or scribe. A modelled listener line is rehearsal, not actual feedback.
- Integrated boundaries: Week 25 paper picture stories use three frames for storytelling; that is not an observed Science movement. Week 26 movement and fair rules has HPE/Dance aims. A child's body movement in a game is not automatically evidence for this adult-controlled object inquiry, and a directed paper route is not physical HPE evidence. Keep records separate.
- Fresh checks: Day 125 and Day 130 held paper cases assess source-bound reasoning and next safe questions. Neither paper check can prove a classroom movement, actual AC9SFI02 investigation, an object's causal material property, term/year mastery or child growth.
National year label is Foundation Year; Queensland uses Prep. Other states/territories require their own current implementation and safety review before classroom use.
