Rule · 4 min. Say “pointed outer mark seen / rounded outer mark seen in this drawing”; identify leaf tip or ear tip when explaining.
Model · 5 min. Place N2 under pointed and N1 under rounded while naming their different leaf outlines; do not call N2 an animal.
Child try · 7 min. Card 142 routes place N3 and N4, then reread all four placements against the same rule. An unclear mark waits rather than being forced.
Probe · 4 min. Ask whether the pointed bin proves all members share the author's plant/animal label; invite a cautious “we need the label source.”
