Day 15 · new model inputs
Use the six baseline descriptions and Versions 1 and 2 from the earlier source packet. Remember that a safe output is either a label whose entire edge, tip and stem match the baseline description or an appropriate unmatched result.
New card U1: entirely jagged outer edge; rounded tip; short stem.
New card U2: entirely smooth outer edge; rounded tip; long stem.
- Trace U1 through Version 1 and Version 2. For each version, list the decision order, output, and one full-descriptor reason to accept or reject it.
- Trace U2 through Version 2. Name the output and verify all three traits against the baseline card.
- A separate invented eight-case test returns 7 safe outputs out of 8 for an old paper key and 8 out of 8 for a revision, using the same eight profiles. Write both percentages and the difference in percentage points. Write one sentence that the log supports and one claim it cannot support.
Day 20 · a new number and a new optional decision
New draft C for a younger reader: “96=2⁵×3 because 2⁵=10 and 3×10=30. Easy!”
New fictional outreach brief: A core accessible explanation already exists. One optional showcase slot and $30 discretionary funds are available. Option P is a paper practice wall costing $22, possibly giving immediate peer feedback. Option Q is a take-home example card set costing $27, possibly giving repeat practice. These benefits have not been measured. Choose at most one optional extra; core access stays available.
- Find the exact wrong claim or claims in Draft C. Show a correct prime-power expansion of 96 and multiply back to verify it.
- Calculate money remaining for P and Q. State your ranking using one named criterion, choose one, and name the possible benefit of the next best option that you give up. Explain why the purchase price is different from that opportunity cost.
- Rewrite Draft C in two to four reader-facing sentences with an overview, one clearly explained power, a multiply-back check, and one honest limit on the fictional decision or audience test. No actual younger reader has tested the draft.
