Status: an original, unpiloted Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 draft. Weeks 1–4 now have 20 English lessons, 20 mathematics lessons and 20 integrated sessions; Weeks 3–4 also have 50 optional short blocks across five areas. The 40-week map is plan-only for Weeks 5–40. This is a teaching slice within a school day, not a full-year program or a claim of state or territory compliance. Assessment prompts and teacher keys are both publicly accessible in this library. Use the checks as formative practice, collect first responses before sharing feedback, and change the case locally if prior access matters.
Start without buying anything
- Check the current Year 8 syllabus, school timetable, digital and data policies, safety rules and existing learner plans. The national codes here do not establish when or how a state or territory implements them.
- For Days 1–10 open the opening route: run the same-numbered 25-minute English, 25-minute maths and 35-minute integrated sessions. For Days 11–20 use the English, maths and Open Page Lab integrated inquiry teacher guides. The core 85 minutes are only a teaching slice, not a whole school day.
- Choose any locally suitable 12-minute Science, HASS, HPE, Technologies or Arts supplement for Days 11–20 while supplying the rest of the timetable. Copy or print the fictional opening source texts, number cards, graph, sample grid and claim mat. Later pack guides link their own SVG/PDF/text aids. Paper, counters and a ruler suffice for the core lessons; digital tools are optional, with no account required.
- Decide what a response is meant to show. For mathematics, a learner may use a table, graph, equation, tactile tokens, speech or keyboard. For English composition, record whether the words were independently authored, dictated or copied. For text interpretation, record whether it was read independently, heard, enlarged, translated by a qualified person or otherwise accessed. No supplied translation is claimed to be verified.
- Use short exits and independent Days 5, 10, 15 and 20 checks. Rotate focus learners, record prompts and supports, then reteach the specific idea. A fast answer or a polished presentation is not automatically stronger reasoning. Do not infer a disability, language need or “learning style” from one task.
The price plans and survey figures are invented. They are not real offers, travel data, student opinions, financial advice or school decisions. Do not collect identifiable travel, address or household information for these lessons. If a local data task is later approved, use school consent and privacy processes.
Source and release boundary
Source, rights and review notes record the narrow use of the opening codes and link to later pack crosswalks. Codes and descriptions were checked against Year 8 and official Years 7 and 8 band content_description records of ACARA's Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 workbook, retrieved 29 September 2026; source workbook SHA-256 db446882d2c00cf7c085a03e250e2442fda6c44011fc114680c46c1dc7a822c3. The manifest hashes each file and cited description with its applicable rights. Codes mean partial support, never that a student has met the Year 8 achievement standard.
