This ninth original fortnight moves from the material-purpose pad to a different design problem: how can a large, simple folder carry two related messages so a new person can find the right one without mistaking a partial view or an unanswered request for the whole story? Week 17 uses two invented picture-source cards, CLOSE and WIDE. Week 18 transfers the handoff idea to a care request and actual answer, with the answer left blank unless an authorised school contact really gives it. Children compare folder ideas, plan a safe broad-paper fold, try ordinary insertion/retrieval only if school-approved, record a willing user's exact response, and revise from evidence or an honest unknown. There is no drop, load, pressure, outdoor or care-action test.
This is adjacent to integrated Week 17 picture views and Week 18 shared-place care. Those blocks handle media framing, data, local place observation, permission and movement separately. This Design pack focuses on the person-made handoff product: user, purpose, folder features, material steps and whether a real reader could locate two records in an approved ordinary try. An invented card is not a class-data result, real place observation, granted permission or evidence that a child made a material product.
Start with fictional cards and safe kit. Use ten timed 25-minute scripts, thirty switchable same-goal routes, twenty worked context swaps, eight original A4 SVG/PDF pairs with complete linear/tactile/no-print alternatives, and two fresh public formative checks with a separate public teacher key. Every home bridge needs only talk or drawing, and every lesson has a no-material route.
Evidence gate: A printed folder diagram is a plan. An adult checks and prepares any real broad clean blunt paper and two large practice cards. Optional child folding/inserting occurs only when approved, willing and supervised; otherwise a child may direct an adult or stay with design talk. Record who physically folded, inserted and retrieved. A real reader's exact response is recorded only if a willing reader actually tries. In Week 18, a fictional or unanswered request remains WAITING / NO ANSWER; this folder never grants permission. A real care action, shared place or Country/Place account belongs under local school authority and separate evidence.
