Target/codes: collect/sort SUN and CLOUD pictures and compare 5 to 7 by counting or one-to-one matching; AC9MFST01, AC9MFN03. Prepare: P182 and compare board.

  1. Notice · 3 min. Give the question “Which sign picture has more in this envelope?” State that these are invented sign designs, not a forecast.
  2. Model · 4 min. Move one SUN and one CLOUD into a matched row; tell how one-to-one pairing avoids a long-row illusion.
  3. Guide · 5 min. Child sorts all twelve, pairs matching positions, counts 5 SUN and 7 CLOUD, and checks the total is twelve.
  4. Independent route · 7 min. Day 182 A/B/C may use large pictures, a drawn match line or spoken/AAC directions to an adult. Require the same counts, CLOUD more, and two unpaired CLOUD pictures or a counted reason.
  5. Reason check · 4 min. Spread the five SUN far apart. Ask whether spreading changed the number; recount rather than judging by occupied space.
  6. Exit · 2 min. Child states the comparison only for this envelope. If unsure, begin next lesson with three pairs and one remaining card.
