Day 5 Check A · A listing is a decision
New source F. In 2019, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee made decision 43 COM 8B.14: it inscribed the Budj Bim Cultural Landscape as a cultural landscape on criteria (iii) and (v). The decision's account attributes the aquaculture system and continuing cultural practice to Gunditjmara people. This is a primary institutional record of a 2019 decision, not an ancient witness or direct sample-date report.
Question: A proposed museum label says, “UNESCO discovered, built and now owns the 6,600-year-old walls at Budj Bim.” Use F to write a more accurate label of 35–70 words or equivalent spoken/diagram response. Identify F's maker and date, what it actually decided, one Gunditjmara attribution and two things F cannot establish. Name a different kind of source you would use to investigate a particular feature's age and one current source for access or custodianship. Keep the distinction between the broad landscape history and a particular wall.

Day 10 Check B · Digital clues and living authority
New source G. A 2026 Australian Archaeology article by Armstrong, Huang, Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Corporation, Bell, Bell, Lovett-Murray, Nicholson, Black and Tomko reports work with high-resolution airborne LiDAR images of Budj Bim. Their processing made low-relief possible features easier to see. The authors also report false positives and missed known features and say likely sites still need on-ground checking (field verification), using Gunditjmara knowledge and appropriate field methods. This is primary evidence of a 2026 investigation, not a complete record of all ancient works. No site images or coordinates are reproduced here.
New source H. The Budj Bim Cultural Landscape student-program page says school programs are escorted by a Gunditjmara guide. It lists Tyrendarra as access by special request only. This is a present-day source about an offered program and access, not an ancient eyewitness account; arrangements can change.
Question: A classmate says, “The computer has found every ancient feature, so our class can publish their exact locations and visit all of them.” Use G and H together to respond. For each, give maker/date or current setting, source kind, one relevant fact and one limit. Explain one next research step and one respectful classroom action that does not expose locations. Avoid turning a candidate shape into a confirmed site or a public tour page into permission for unrestricted access.
