These two files are generated locally by generate_assets.py as mono, 22,050 Hz, 16-bit PCM. Each lasts 0.7 seconds: a 392 Hz sine tone for the first 0.35 seconds followed by silence for 0.35 seconds. The soft cue has a lower amplitude and longer fade; the firm cue has a higher amplitude and shorter fade. They are original neutral sound signals, not voice recordings, samples, songs or culturally specific cues. Volume perception varies by device. Start playback low and ask consent.
For Day 6, put a cue at the first count of the same two-count pause before JO’s “two minutes” line; leave the second count quiet. Compare with two visibly counted silent beats. A device is never necessary. The exact text route is “one brief neutral tone at the first count, then silence at the second”; the tactile route is a raised CUE card in the first of two count cells, or two empty cells for the silent version. Learners can direct cards and explain the decision without hearing the audio.
