Both prompts are publicly accessible; a worked teacher key is also public by URL. They are for practice and feedback, not secure exams or school assessment instruments. For each check, give the student the new file only at first, keep the first response, log access prompts/reading/scribing, then discuss feedback. A learner can submit a north-up marked grid plus labels, ordered full-word tiles with coordinates, a structured explanation in writing or a recorded/AAC explanation. Require the same geographic evidence, inference and limit. All places, events and counts are inventions. Do not use any answer as a real warning, route or field observation.

Day 5 check A · Junction Park (File G)

Fresh source: In one wholly invented heavy-rainfall and creek-overflow model scenario, a north–south creek touches column A of a 3×3 north-up grid. Columns A–C run west to east; rows 1–3 run north to south. Each cell is a 50 m × 50 m model square. The letter key means H = higher model inundation, M = middle model inundation, L = lower model inundation for this one scenario; it does not give water depth or probability. A cells are H, B cells M, C cells L. Counts are individual structures located in cells, not occupants.

North-up row A · H B · M C · L
1 0 structures 4 structures 6 structures
2 0 structures 9 structures 10 structures
3 0 structures 5 structures 7 structures

Your four-part response, using only File G:

  1. Explain the possible rainfall→runoff→creek process in one sentence. State that it is a scenario, not an observation.
  2. Describe the west-to-east H/M/L pattern with B2 and C2 correctly located. Say what the category key does and does not say.
  3. Calculate how many structures are in the M cells and how many in the L cells, showing the additions. Do not convert structures to people or damage.
  4. Propose one information check a planner would need before using any real map to decide safe access. Explain why this invented grid cannot decide actual impact.

Hand-in card: “I located ; the supplied pattern is ; I totalled ; a missing piece is .” Retain one source label, one inference and one limit.

Day 10 check B · Quarry Edge (File H)

Fresh source: In another wholly invented scenario, sustained rain has saturated loose material on an upper slope. The simplified west-to-east cross section is A upper slope → B downslope movement corridor → C flatter ground. The diagram is a concept sketch, not a survey or model of runout probability. North/south is irrelevant to this west–east cross section. Imagined structures in the B corridor are listed below; C2 is a clinic's main building outside the labelled corridor. A path from B2 toward C2 is the only path shown in this brief, but its condition has not been checked. The local warning relay is untested. No real location, date, coordinates, rainfall amount, stability measure, slope angle, warning or engineering report is supplied.

Along corridor B Count of model structures Description
B1 2 storage buildings
B2 1 clinic annex
B3 3 workshop buildings

Your five-part response, using only File H:

  1. Explain why the stipulated downslope movement is geomorphic, and name the rainfall/saturation interaction without saying all slopes fail after rain.
  2. Describe the A→B→C pattern; locate B2 and C2 in the cross section and explain why their positions differ.
  3. Total the model structures in B1–B3. State exactly what that six would count and what it would not prove.
  4. Identify one capacity uncertainty about warning or path access. Propose a responsible next check by an appropriate authority/professional; do not direct someone along a path.
  5. Finish this sentence: “This invented source cannot establish actual local risk because ___.”

Hand-in card: “The process is ; B2 compared with C2 ; six means ; I would ask ___ to verify ; actual ___ is unknown.” A labelled tactile or spoken cross section is welcome if all location claims are retained.
