Learner choices

Goal: create and deliver a short, specific instruction, then share-edit after feedback. Proposed codes: AC9EFLA09, AC9EFLY06, AC9EFLY07, AC9EFLY13. Prepare: broad shape cards, blank instruction/listener mats, chosen listener, Card 179.

  1. Oral/print · 3 min. Blend an already taught CVC or use oral phonemes; record actual child letter choices apart from adult scribing.
  2. Model · 4 min. Write/dictate “Put two circles before one square.” Point to first capital and sentence stop, then have an adult follow it.
  3. Guide · 5 min. Child plans MATERIALS / STEP 1 / STEP 2 / CHECK. Offer D pattern or E shape-place source, with a different arrangement if practising transfer.
  4. Create · 7 min. Child chooses paper garden border, transport sign or puppet stage and makes two directions by voice, sign, AAC, symbols, dictation or writing.
  5. Listener/edit · 4 min. Consenting peer/adult shows the result; child revises an unclear word if needed. Keep first and revised instructions. Actual spoken peer delivery is logged only if it occurred.
  6. Exit · 2 min. Child names one detail a new listener would still need; keep Day 180 entirely unseen.
