These are open, low-stakes checks for next teaching. A child may answer with broad cards, tactile cells, drawing, AAC, a neutral scribe or optional sound. Do not demand a voice, hearing response, a public performance or a personal story. Keep the teacher key away from learner copies until first responses are saved.
Check A · New G paper greenhouse
Day 5. A4 G SVG · A4 G PDF · exact text/tactile alternative. A fictional paper greenhouse display has three equal spaces. Its starting score is 1 REST, 2 REST, 3 X: – – X. The maker wants an X at count 2 as well as count 3, while keeping count 1 quiet. Show one changed card and your new three-space score. Tell, point to, draw or direct an adult to record why it matches the paper idea. The display is imaginary, not a real alert or a claim about plants or visitors.
Record without coaching: first score, changed count, child's reason, route used; optional sound yes/no. A correct paper response cannot prove hearing or performance.
Check B · New H two paper messages
Day 10. A4 H SVG · A4 H PDF · exact text/tactile alternative. Six equal spaces are in two groups of three. Start 1 REST, 2 X, 3 REST / 4 REST, 5 X, 6 REST: – X – / – X –. The two groups repeat. In the fictional story, the maker now wants the second paper message to include one extra X after its middle X, while the first message stays the same. Change one card, show all six spaces, and say/show which group changed and why. Choose a willing person to show your original score to, a paper puppet to rehearse with, or a pass. Only actual sharing with a willing person counts as audience evidence.
Record without coaching: first six-slot score, changed count, repeat/contrast explanation, any actual audience and medium shared, route used; optional sound yes/no. A silent response cannot prove hearing or musical performance.
