The tasks need no sound, speech, printer, speed or audience. A neutral adult can read every public mark, make large tactile cards or scribe only the child's exact direction. Save the first complete response before teaching. The educator key is separate.
Check Design 1 · Find two planned differences
Use Design 1 SVG or PDF. Each of three event places has pitch L/H (low/high) and planned level V/S (very soft/soft). Two designs for the same neutral fictional paper-star turn are printed:

Find one changed pitch mark and one changed level mark. Give each place and old/new mark. Show one mark that stayed the same. What cannot this paper tell us about how a real person felt or heard it?
Check Design 2 · Make another solution
Use Design 2 SVG or PDF. Given Design A pitch is L H L and planned level is V V S. Design B begins as an identical printed copy. For the same fictional paper-star turn, change exactly one pitch mark (L↔H) and exactly one level mark (V↔S) in B; you choose the places. On paper, circle each old mark in B and write the new mark beside it; with cards, replace one in each lane. Show the whole new B, name both choices and tell one musical idea for it. Check the other four marks remain. A real listener may respond differently; no correct feeling is required.
