This is an opening sequence on source, fact/opinion, bias and audience. It does not replace varied literature, independent reading, spelling, oral language or the full Year 6 English program.
Prepare: Read the original source packet before class. Every advert/product/data point is invented for teaching; no real brand or recommendation is present. Keep Card D sealed for transfer. Print the SVG or use its exact plain-text alternative. Ask children to locate a claim, evidence and missing information; an opinion can be reasonable without becoming an observed fact. A visual design can draw attention without proving the claim. Provide accessible text, large print, screen reader, read-aloud, tactile emphasis, AAC/sign discussion and adult transcription as needed; record whether comprehension followed independent reading or a read-aloud. Protect any child from disclosing family spending or product access.
