This fifth original fortnight follows Weeks 7–8 with a new brief: design a flat two-source display mat for a pretend class curator. One zone holds invented practice material cards; a different, initially empty zone can hold a school-approved real tray observation, dated when it actually occurs. The children decide how a viewer could tell those sources apart. A broad-paper mat may be assembled and tried locally, but the printed pages make no claim that a child handled paper, that cards stayed in place, or that a viewer understood it.
Week 9 asks who designs a display, compares two layouts, develops two ideas and prepares a safe placement plan. Week 10 invites an optional supervised real card-placement/reading check, a revision linked to a result or unknown, and a new three-part design brief. This pairs with Week 9's invented versus real material sets and Week 10's evidence reflection. The Design lessons do not establish mathematics, Science, HASS or Arts outcomes.
Start with materials and exact fictional sources. Run the ten individual 25-minute scripts with three switchable access routes per day, twenty worked life-domain variations and eight original A4 SVG/PDF aids. Give the two fresh public formative checks before opening the teacher key and next moves. All home ideas work by talking, pointing or drawing; no purchase, printing, screen, private disclosure or home trial is required.
Evidence gate: A drawn mat is a design proposal. A school-approved real familiar product, service or environment must be selected locally and observed to support the “familiar” part of the knowledge row. A child’s material use and any card movement or viewer response require their own actual observations. An adult doing all assembly is recorded as adult action, even when a child directs the design. If there is no trial, record NOT TRIED. The empty real-tray zone must stay blank unless a real dated set is used. No child names or classroom counts are supplied by this pack.
