Teacher copy: This page may include teaching prompts or answer keys. Answer keys in this public library can be viewed by anyone. Give learners a clean prompt, use checks as formative evidence, and change a case locally when prior access matters.

Open after saving the child's first response. These are formative score-planning tasks, not a listening exam, performance measure, emotional assessment or whole Music achievement-standard judgment. A neutral adult can read every public mark but must not name the pattern or choose replacement cards.

Check Gap 1

Track A spreads: its first gap is S and last gap is L, with M between. Track B is even/steady: M–M–M. Both have four identical event identities: fixed L pitch, V planned level, source A and count four. Accept any one accurate hold. The paper cannot establish actual event timing, sound comfort, aural discrimination or a listener's response. If the child identifies A but cannot compare first/last, use a different after-check raised pair with ends separated; preserve the first response.

Check Gap 2

B must become L M S, gathering toward the end: gap 1 changes S→L, gap 2 M holds, gap 3 changes L→S. All four event marks still match A and one another. Accept the child's own musical purpose without a required emotional word. Paper cannot prove real performance, hearing or listener meaning. If B changes a fixed event or middle gap, use a new after-check base to separate event and gap lanes, preserving the first answer.

Day Evidence to save Next invitation
121 First count of four starts and three between-start gaps; selected spacer order. Contrast a dot with a spacer in a new strip.
122 Three M gaps and child's reason for even spacing. Try a single changed gap without changing sound identity.
123 Child's L–M–S order and first/last comparison. Compare gathered dots with an even strip.
124 Child's S–M–L order and held-event explanation. Present a fresh two-track comparison.
125 First Gap 1 track labels, first/last evidence, one hold and paper limit. Offer different after-check tracks.
126 Child's gap change versus fixed four event marks; physical claim boundary. Ask whether planned time was ever tested.
127 PLAN entry, any real playback/recipient source, or NOT TESTED/NOT ASKED. Keep actual fields separate in a new brief.
128 Two first child-owned tracks, at least one changed gap and own purpose. Optional willing reader, private if preferred.
129 Actual source/child response if encountered; recipient/medium/words if shared. Keep FE01/FP01 held otherwise.
130 First B order, two changed end gaps, held middle/events and paper limit. New after-check base for further practice.
