Goal: make one precise source-bounded external-feature description without species or behaviour inference. Proposed codes: AC9SFU01, AC9SFI02, AC9SFI03. Prepare: genuine approved Day 86 record or school-approved rights-cleared real animal PHOTO if available, feature-record, Card 87.

  1. Source gate · 3 min. Confirm actual animal/view/date or verified PHOTO/provenance. If neither, MODEL ONLY and real feature NOT OBSERVED.
  2. Notice · 4 min. Re-read exact visible external feature; do not name species, sex, mood, habitat or reason for presence from appearance.
  3. Model · 5 min. Teacher distinguishes “this source shows a long visible tail” if actually supported from “this animal always has …” or “it lives here”.
  4. Child try · 7 min. Card 87 routes draw/point/dictate/AAC one exact externally visible feature, source/access and one hidden/unknown area. If only A, describe invented marks with MODEL.
  5. Check · 4 min. Offer “The picture shows a wing-like mark so this animal can fly.” Child separates appearance from unobserved behaviour.
  6. Exit · 2 min. Save precise claim and unknown, no invented species ID.
