Version: v0.1 draft, 29 September 2026. Status: educator, local-syllabus, accessibility, EAL/D and science-safety review pending. This is an Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 planning map with four authored weeks, not a full Year 4 program or a substitute for the school's adopted syllabus.

What exists and what does not

Resource Authored coverage Limit
40-week planning map Forty weekly focus briefs Weeks 5–40 are plan only; they have no daily lesson scripts in this starter.
Mathematics Weeks 1–2 Ten 25-minute lessons on tenths and hundredths, original grid/print aids, keyed formative check Partial AC9M4N01 and AC9M4N03 practice; no full-year decimal/fraction claim.
English Weeks 1–2 Ten 25-minute lessons on evidence, opinion/factual language and connected report writing, original source cards, keyed check Original short texts support this sequence; school-selected diverse reading and the wider English program remain essential.
Mathematics Weeks 3–4 Ten further 25-minute lessons on decimal placement and equal-whole fifths, thirty choice routes, two fresh checks and two original A4 aids Partial AC9M4N01 and AC9M4N03 links; a model is not a full fractions sequence.
English Weeks 3–4 Ten further 25-minute lessons using seven original source cards, thirty core choices, optional extras and fresh checks Fifteen partial Year 4 English links; child reading and writing evidence must be kept separate from adult-read comprehension.
Integrated Week 1 and Week 2 Two five-day, 35-minute Science inquiry guides with original record cards and accessible routes Qualitative observation and models, not invented data or a complete science unit.
Integrated Weeks 3–4 exhibit project Ten additional 35-minute studio blocks, clean learner cards, staff next moves and an original A4 model Connects the English and maths packs; other-subject coverage and real visitor accessibility are not established.
Five-area supplementary Weeks 3–4 menu Fifty distinct optional 12-minute blocks across Science, HASS, HPE, Technologies and five Arts forms; learner/staff copies, five A4 aids and an offline Rule Lab These short options are not a full allocation for any learning area or evidence of a required practical action unless it occurs.

Teacher start route

  1. Check your school authority's current Year 4 syllabus, scope, safety rules, assessment calendar, text permissions and learner plans. QCAA ACiQ v9 is a Queensland entry point; schools elsewhere must use their own authority. A national code mapping does not set local reporting dates.
  2. Read the maths and English pack READMEs, prepare the original decimal aids and source cards, then use the Weeks 3–4 maths and English packs when you reach them. Arrange appropriate larger print, tactile, digital or adult-directed formats. Use the readiness checks before advancing. A learner may show mathematical or textual reasoning by speech, sign, AAC, objects, pointing, drawing, keyboard or adult transcription; record prompts and response mode.
  3. Teach one daily mathematics lesson and one daily English lesson. Weeks 1–2 also have a relevant 35-minute integrated Science session; Weeks 3–4 offer a separate 35-minute exhibit studio and a five-area optional menu. These are opening blocks within, not the entirety of, a school day. Full learning-area allocations, Languages, routines and local obligations need separate planning.
  4. Use each pack's keyed formative check to select the next teaching move. Keep individual records under school policy, never in this public tree. Do not score handwriting, English accent, sensory tolerance or manipulation speed as the target concept unless that is explicitly the target.

The route offers multiple access options without assigning fixed “learning styles.” No translations are invented or certified. A translation requires a named language/locale, school pathway and qualified human review; a word-level English lesson does not automatically work in another orthography. Week 1 Science examples are teacher-made; Week 2's water-cycle diagram is a model, not a report of weather observed at a school. The Weeks 3–4 English and maths packs have separate learner checks and private keys. Classroom teachers verify local and cultural context before use.

AERO explicit instruction and writing paragraphs inform modelling, practice and paragraph feedback, without endorsing these untrialled scripts. The source and QA record lists exact checks. No fortnight assessment determines full Year 4 achievement.
