Read complete K/L/M/N fictional sources and the adult material gate first. Each day totals 3 + 4 + 5 + 7 + 4 + 2 = 25 minutes. Use thirty flexible routes and worked optional swaps to offer access and interest choices, not fixed “learning style” labels. The adult may use locally approved large known materials after pretest, or teach a complete FICTIONAL MODEL paper route. If no actual inspection happens, mark REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE. A child may decline touch; a sourced ADULT REPORT stays attributed. Do not treat a drawing of ribs as a verified fabric sample. Keep the fresh Day 135/140 cases and separate keys unseen until first independent responses.

Week 27 · Day 131 — Two regions in one picture

Goal: describe two pictured regions without naming an unverified material. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (model only), AC9SFH01, AC9SFI03. Prepare: split sign picture, exact Model K, Card 131.

1. Source · 3 min. Label K FICTIONAL MODEL and the class actual line REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE.
2. Notice · 4 min. Read left plain-looking region, right six drawn lines and the divider. No touch/material is provided.
3. Model · 5 min. Say “I can see drawn lines. I cannot tell which real materials a sign would contain from this picture.”
4. Child try · 7 min. Card 131 routes identify both pictured regions and one unknown material fact, preserving first words.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask whether two printed colours prove two materials; prompt a source-based correction if needed.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save PICTURE ONLY description, not a physical property result.

Week 27 · Day 132 — What a maker's note adds

Goal: identify two reported components of one invented object while distinguishing appearance from material provenance. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (model reading), AC9SFH01, AC9SFI03. Prepare: full Model L, three pictorial swatches, Card 132.

1. Label · 3 min. L is an invented maker note; materials named in it are not a classroom inspection.
2. Read · 4 min. Read A plain card, B ribbed woven fabric, C ribbed corrugated paper-based card, and the A+B fictional sign.
3. Model · 5 min. Point to drawn regions, then to L's words that identify card and fabric; say “The drawing did not prove that.”
4. Child try · 7 min. Card 132 routes place CARD BASE / FABRIC PATCH on the invented sign from L and leave hidden join UNKNOWN.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask if the same-looking rib pattern proves B and C have the same material. Child names L's different labels.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save source: FICTIONAL MAKER NOTE, not actual local composition.

Week 27 · Day 133 — Look at approved real surfaces, if available

Goal: record one actual visible feature and separately record how material identity was verified. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03, AC9SFI02 (actual only), AC9SFI03. Prepare: locally approved known large A/B/C surfaces or L paper route, safe source gate, blank two-source record, Card 133.

1. Adult gate · 3 min. Record approval, local date, exact large samples, material provenance, safe access and stop plan; otherwise REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE.
2. Prior question · 4 min. Ask “What visible surface mark can we actually notice?” No one is asked to identify by touch.
3. Inspect/read · 5 min. Adults present broad real sample(s) safely without pressure or forced touch, or read L as FICTIONAL MODEL; record direct access versus neutral ADULT REPORT.
4. Child raw record · 7 min. Card 133 routes record exact visible feature for each actual viewed sample, plus material identity source or UNKNOWN; never copy L into a local log.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask whether the drawn swatch picture itself verifies the material of this real sample. Child separates depiction and verified source.
6. Exit · 2 min. Store actual date/feature/provenance or a model-only record.

Week 27 · Day 134 — Sort one property and keep the counterexample

Goal: state one visible-feature rule, sort only viewed samples under it and retain an item whose material differs. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (actual if observed), AC9SFI03, AC9SFI05. Prepare: genuine Day 133 log if any or Model L, one-property sort, Card 134.

1. Source · 3 min. Keep actual dated sample record and L MODEL in separate piles; no invented result fills a gap.
2. Rule · 4 min. State “visibly ribbed in this view / no visible ribs in this view”; place NOT VIEWED/UNCLEAR aside.
3. Model · 5 min. In L only, B and C both have reported ribs, but the maker reports fabric for B and paper-based card for C.
4. Child try · 7 min. Card 134 routes sort their actual viewed samples if available, or L's reported model features, and name a source-based counterexample.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask whether “ribbed means fabric” still works with L's C or a genuine counterexample; record the child's revised rule.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save rule, raw placements, NOT VIEWED and source label; no universal claim.

Week 27 · Day 135 — Fresh composition-and-source check

Goal: independently identify what a new picture can show and what verified material information it lacks. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (model reasoning), AC9SFH01, AC9SFI03. Prepare: unseen teacher-held Case AD, blank two-source record, Card 135 only after response.

1. Preflight · 3 min. Confirm the new case is unseen; prepare literal read-aloud, large print, AAC or broad secured tactile version.
2. Present · 4 min. Read the full FICTIONAL PAPER CASE once without naming the missing material source.
3. Think · 5 min. Offer quiet independent time and log any neutral exact reread.
4. First independent response · 7 min. Child names depicted parts, distinguishes appearance from material identity and asks for a safe verification source; capture exact first words/access.
5. Bound · 4 min. Ask what an approved real object's date, maker/provenance and direct view would add. Paper-only remains REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE.
6. Close · 2 min. Consult the separate key only after first response; Card 135 follows later.

Week 28 · Day 136 — Ask a material question without guessing

Goal: pose a neutral question that distinguishes a maker's material statement from a child's own feature observation. Proposed codes: AC9SFH01, AC9SFI01, AC9SFI05. Prepare: Model N, ask/source/explain mat, Card 136.

1. Consent/source · 3 min. N's maker is fictional; any real teacher-maker answer is optional, willing and locally recorded without identity.
2. Listen · 4 min. Read N's exact question and attributed answer, including the hidden join unknown.
3. Model · 5 min. Adult asks “Which part did you attach, and what is your source?” rather than “It is fabric, isn't it?”
4. Child try · 7 min. Card 136 routes form one neutral material/source question and attribute an answer to MODEL N or a genuinely willing maker.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask if hearing a maker answer means the child directly felt a material; child separates report from own sense.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save the question, exact source answer or no answer; a pass needs no reason.

Week 28 · Day 137 — Two sources may answer different parts

Goal: combine a direct visible-feature record and a properly attributed maker/material source without collapsing them. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03, AC9SFH01, AC9SFI03. Prepare: actual dated Day 133 source if any or L/N MODEL, two-source record, Card 137.

1. Sort sources · 3 min. Put DIRECT FEATURE, ADULT REPORT and MODEL labels where they truly belong.
2. Read/recall · 4 min. Retrieve one exact visible feature and one exact material label/source; a missing source stays UNKNOWN.
3. Model · 5 min. Say “I noticed broad ribs in this view; the maker said this sample was fabric” only if both parts are genuinely documented; for L say “in the invented note”.
4. Child try · 7 min. Card 137 routes make a two-part source sentence with the correct actual/model label and hidden join unknown.
5. Probe · 4 min. Ask whether a conflicting or uncertain maker label can be silently fixed from a picture. Child keeps it unresolved.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save source labels separately, not a merged fact.

Week 28 · Day 138 — Predict, inspect, and revise carefully

Goal: record a true prior prediction about a visible feature, compare with an actual approved view if available and preserve mixed/unknown outcomes. Proposed codes: AC9SFI01, AC9SFI02 (actual only), AC9SFI04 (actual prior/result only), AC9SFU03. Prepare: one new approved broad safe sample or L model only, safe source gate, Card 138.

1. Gate · 3 min. Teacher pretests material identity, safety and access for a genuinely new large sample; otherwise REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE.
2. Predict · 4 min. Child predicts “I may see broad ribs / no visible ribs” before any actual view, or chooses NO PREDICTION.
3. Inspect/model · 5 min. Reveal/inspect only an approved real sample, or use an explicitly invented L drawing; no forced contact.
4. Record · 7 min. Card 138 routes log prior wording/order, exact observed feature or NOT VIEWED/UNCLEAR, material source and access. A model answer is not a real result.
5. Compare · 4 min. Compare prediction with later genuine direct feature only when both exist; otherwise CANNOT COMPARE. Do not treat a texture guess as material proof.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save one cautious next question, not a success label.

Week 28 · Day 139 — Explain a counterexample to a real listener

Goal: share a bounded same-feature/different-material claim with source and one unknown. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (actual only if sourced), AC9SFI03, AC9SFI05. Prepare: actual approved records if present or L/M MODEL, ask/source/explain mat, Card 139.

1. Choose source/privacy · 3 min. Use a consented private actual class record or clearly marked L/M fiction; no child photos or public upload.
2. Read M · 4 min. Hear the broad false rule and compare with L's card counterexample in its invented note.
3. Adult model · 5 min. State only “In L, both B and C are reported ribbed, but the maker reports different materials”; name MODEL.
4. Child share · 7 min. Card 139 routes communicate feature, material identity source, counterexample and unknown to a chosen adult/willing peer.
5. Listener · 4 min. Record actual response only if it occurred; otherwise NO ACTUAL LISTENER RESPONSE. A rehearsal line is not feedback.
6. Exit · 2 min. Save child-controlled explanation and source labels, not an improvement score.

Week 28 · Day 140 — Fresh material-rule check

Goal: independently sort a new source-labelled paper set by one stated property, preserve a counterexample and reject an overbroad material rule. Proposed codes: AC9SFU03 (model reasoning), AC9SFH01, AC9SFI01, AC9SFI03, AC9SFI05. Prepare: unseen teacher-held Case AE, blank sort mat, Card 140 only after response.

1. Preflight · 3 min. Keep the held source unseen; prepare exact accessible equivalent and private first-response capture.
2. Present · 4 min. Read all novel FICTIONAL PAPER CASE labels and the claim once, without sorting for the child.
3. Think · 5 min. Allow independent time; log neutral reread, not a leading cue.
4. First independent response · 7 min. Child states the one-property sort, names the counterexample, distinguishes maker-reported material from drawn appearance and asks a safe next question.
5. Boundary · 4 min. Ask what local approval/date/actual view and material provenance are needed before a real-sample claim. Paper-only stays REAL OBSERVATION NOT AVAILABLE.
