Prepare: Broad saved rubbing/drawn patches, backing, optional approved adhesive; art-canvas; offline planner optional.
- Invite and choose · 3 min. Ask, “What is your picture becoming?” Creature, imagined place, abstract art and “still choosing” are valid. Offer a desk picture, private work or postcard form.
- Model · 4 min. Adult moves two own patches: “I imagine these as a tall visitor and a round moon.” Another maker may choose different meanings; no shape is a universal sign.
- Explore · 5 min. Child tries a new placement and which patch lies on top. Adult describes both arrangements exactly without declaring one prettier.
- Make/direct · 7 min. Child makes/directs a loose or attached collage or an exact plan. They may add one broad drawn mark or dictate a title. Attach only after confirmation. Adult follows chosen position/order, not an adult replacement idea.
- Notice and next · 4 min. Child explains/indicates a visible choice connected to intended meaning. Preserve first arrangement, final decision and support. No viewer yet means audience NOT OBSERVED.
- Clear and close · 2 min. Put tools away and keep work/private plan. Preview a new source tomorrow without a worked solution.
Look/listen for: art decision and relation to child intent. Abstract work needs no invented story; “I like them apart” can explain a visible choice.
