Learner choices

Target/codes: Revise a source-backed care/feature instruction while separating revision, permission and observed use; AC9HSFS01, AC9HSFS02 and AC9HSFS04 partial. Actual route/codes: AC9HSFK03 conditional actual how-place-looked-after explanation. Ready: P: source kit/child's first direction, broad repair flap; R: actual first wording/source/record, owner check and optional reader willingness.

Child product: Preserved first/revised direction with source reason and retry/pass/gap record.

  1. Open · 3 min. Ask “What word or step could we make clearer?” P: repair child's own model instruction, not invented exact E/F prompt. R: confirm permitted source/owner scope.
  2. Read source · 4 min. P: relevant A/D words and exact first child instruction. R: actual feature/care procedure/first wording; ask owner to check step if needed.
  3. Model · 5 min. Replace vague “that page” on unrelated blank direction with a named feature/source, preserving first version. P: model doesn't rewrite original reports. R: source check doesn't prove reader use.
  4. Child inquiry · 7 min. Child repairs one cue/word/ask-first or return step against P/actual source and gives a source reason. R: ask reader “Would you like another try, or pass?” Retry only under continued scope/willingness; record exact response/help/time or gap. P: use role-play response labelled MODEL or genuine model-reader response scoped to model. No completed retry presumed.
  5. Check/respond · 4 min. Do not infer learning gain, universally better design/access or fairness from repeat. Capture actual care explanation separately from child motor/action.
  6. Exit · 2 min. Save first/revised words/approval/status/help. Next move: return or hand over kit under the actual care step and tell owner what remains open.
